Inspired by Appalachian folklore, abandoned ghost towns reclaimed by the forest, and the eerie stillness of rain-soaked mountain air, What Answers Back captures the feeling of wandering too far and the quiet beauty of Mother Nature taking back what was always rightfully hers.
Cold fog drifts between towering pines as damp earth, moss-covered floorboards, wet leaves, and mineral woods settle into the skin like memory. Hidden beneath the forest air is the ghost of coral honeysuckle blooming somewhere unseen. It's soft, humid, and fleeting against the ancient atmosphere surrounding it.
At the heart of the fragrance is an atmospheric bone accord that is dry, mineralic, ancient, and softened by rain and fog moving through the forest air.

Was so excited to get this perfume and was not disappointed. It smells so amazingly beautiful. The quality for the price is unbeatable and the care with the packaging was outstanding. Will definitely be ordering from here again!!
I might change my review later, but for now this one is in maceration jail. It's hard to explain the smell, but it's almost like sweet tea that's old? I don't get any woody notes or floral, it's not giving any of what I expected. I'll try it again in a few weeks. Okay bottle and atomizer. The little moon wasn't attached when I received it.
I was really torn on this review because it smells EXACTLY like the description, and the scent lasts forever! Unfortunately, the scent itself just wasn’t for me. The packaging was amazing, and the creator is amazing as well. This particular scent just wasn’t one I personally enjoyed, but the quality and longevity are definitely there!
This perfume has probably now made it into my number one for favorite scents.

None of the scent notes listed came through well. It had a heavy cleaning alcohol scent
The wet earth and moss provode a lovely and subtle coziness to this fragrance. I was hooked just from the description, as the petrichor smell of the haunting mountains of Kentucky is my favorite childhood memory. I am so glad I grabbed this and will definitely buy a larger bottle when it restocks.
Packaging was perfect. I will be buying a full bottle as soon as possible!
After the first test smell of my sample size, I IMMEDIATELY hopped online to buy a full bottle. after I properly grieved that it was sold out (& signed up for a restock alert) I wore it out to a night with friends. that was the most complemented I've ever been with a scent. I can't wait to repurchase!
This scent is stunning... There is something earthy about it, in the best way. Wet dirt, I don't know, but it's so good. I haven't been able to wear-test this for longevity, but as soon as I receive it (which, by the way, the packaging is beautiful and thoughtful!) I sprayed her on skin... I love it! I don't know that I'd consider this blind-buy safe, but I couldn't find a sample, so I just did, and Im glad!!!
Smella amazing on my husband wish there were more masculine leaning smells to choose from
So excited to receive this scent! The notes had me a little concerned about it being an everyday wear option however this scent is beautiful and sits close to the skin which makes it a perfect work fragrance. I hope the next restock the large bottle comes back as I will definitely be using this a ton! Only slightly disappointing thing was my free sample was not included in the package which is a bummer as it was a scent I really wanted to try. Packaging is beautiful!

It's eerie, haunting, and just a little spooky, yet somehow incredibly beautiful and completely wearable. My husband loves it just as much as I do, and we've genuinely had to fight over who gets the bottle.
This is atmospheric perfumery at its finest. If you ever create a gourmand flanker of this fragrance, I'll buy it in a heartbeat.

Starts off mossy and foggy- it definitely feels like it's humid and cold. Then the bone accord- I've never smelled anything with a bone note before but this feels accurate somehow, and I definitely get the 'sitting in the sun' feeling.
I think this would also be a good intro to anyone looking to get into atmospheric or scents that are more on the 'weird' side!
SUCH a cool fragrance. I am from Appalachia, and I had to try this. It's truly a work of art with a beautiful opening of cool, damp earth, fog rolling in at dusk... and something a bit ominous, however incredibly wearable. I love to experience atmospheric scents, and this really wow'ed me. Don't be scared of the bone accord!
It's amazing how the feeling of fog, stone, and the forest was captured in this perfume! If you're interested in atmospheric fragrances with a little hint of something sinister (but not offputting!) in the background, I definitely recommend trying it out! And, as a bonus, it lasted forever on my skin, so it's a great value!
